British and French students' impressions
Our impression is that the museum is large and great.
We loved the exhibitions that we saw in the museum, they were all very interesting and the learned a lot about the various topics discussed. For example we learned about how people flee to different countries due to war, famine, or drought, at the moment people are fleeing Syria due to the civil war that is taking place, they are fleeing a war zone.
The British industry was very interesting because they have a lot helping France for develop commerce with 80 000 technical.

English: I thought that the exposition was very interesting and informative as it focused on more than one nationality and country. Also, I was happy that I was able to understand the majority of the exhibits, and I also liked how they included the different migrant waves (for example Mexicans going to America.) Furthermore, I also found the artwork very helpful as it gave me different perspectives on all the different issues related to immigration, thus helping me to understand the concept better. In addition, I also liked the different examples of individuals that were immigrants (such as Bertold Brecht) as it was really interesting to find out more about people’s lives and histories.

English: I found the exhibit very enriching, it allowed us to discover where the immigrants came from. I also saw the newspapers of the era which talked about the immigrants and not all of it was positive. In the past, I had not seen an exhibition which focused on the subject of immigration, and this museum was the first that I had seen of that kind. I found it very interesting and useful for my final year of French at my College, as I will be studying immigration in the future. I also liked the pictures, as they helped me to understand the museum more.

I found it very interesting and i have learned a lot about immigration and why and how they come to France.
The museum was very large and provided a strong platform for me and my school mates to learn all about the topic.
In spite of it being a very complicated topic, all of us helped each other learn about it and by the end of the day we had learned a lot.
We found the topic very interesting so it was easy to engage with the exhibitions and understand what they were trying to teach us.

We thought that the exhibition in the museum was very interesting and that it told us a lot about different periods of immigration in the past 200 years. It displayed where the immigrants came from and went to, sometimes telling us the reasons for why they moved, for example there was a large amount of English people that moved to France for job opportunities.
The museum covered a variety of different periods of immigration; however it didn’t show more recent waves of migrants such as Syrian refugees coming to various places in Europe due to the threat of war in their country.
I enjoyed learning with both the English students and also people that have experienced what going through the process of immigration is like and learning the reasons why they left their country to come and live in France.
The museum didn’t focus on specific areas for where the people were moving from or to, therefore covering a wide range of different times when there was large amounts of immigration around the world.
The museum used a lot of visual aids such as statues and paintings to make it easier for the students from different countries to understand what was happening during the different periods of immigration.
I think that immigration is a very relevant topic considering that there is a big problem within Europe as there are millions of immigrants trying to come here to escape things like war and terrorism. This made it more interesting for us as it means that we can understand the situations of the immigrants than we would have before the trip. We believe that it won’t only help us with the current crisis, seeing that there has been lots of immigration in the past, and it’s likely to continue to be a problem in the future as well.
With Paris being one of the largest cities in the world, there is a wide range of nationalities and people of various backgrounds here, which means that lots of the people that live here may have had to immigrate in the past so then we can find out the reasons why they would leave their country and why places such as France or Britain become such attractive destinations for people that want to immigrate.

We liked the production of the video where we spoke about immigration; we learned lots about immigration from all over the world, not only immigration in France such as immigration in America, from countries such as Mexico. We liked seeing the artifacts on display in the museum. We liked seeing artifacts which helped us learn about immigration.
In the museum, they spoke about immigration but not all the immigration that goes on in the world. They didn’t speak about immigration from china or about the current immigrant crisis where people from Syria are trying to seek asylum in Europe due to there being a war in their country.
I enjoyed working with English students and helping them speak in French. Together we could help each other learn about the topic of immigration. We learned a lot from statues that were in display in the museum. For example there were many outside the museum, they helped broaden our knowledge on the topic, it is a very complicated subject so we found it helpful having statues which aided us.
Also in the museum there were many paintings, this gave us a visual representation of the topics we were studying together. It gave us a break from reading the long complicated paragraphs and helped the English students grasp the idea of what was happening.
It is a relevant topic, immigration today, due to the current the Syrian crisis; therefore as a group we found it fascinating learning about the subject in greater detail, than before. We only hear about current events in the news, so to broaden our knowledge about immigration in the past and can help us grasp and comprehend the current immigration that takes place in the world today. We believe it is a very important topic to understand as it is very relevant in all of our lives.
Both France and Britain are very diverse countries, in both of our schools we have a large number of students that come from different countries. Therefore we found it important to understand their situation and to understand where they have come from and why they wanted to come.
